India and South Africa is playing their fourth One Day International of six-match series. SO what’s the special in this ODI, well it’s the pink jerseys they are wearing today that draw the attention of all the audiences. This change of color in the jersey is a mark of significant step that the team has taken up for ‘breast cancer awareness’.
This is their sixth year in a row that they are playing the pink jersey. And not only the South African team but the employees, survivors, friends and the families that came to watch the match were also dressed up in pink. The first ‘Pink ODI’ was first played in 2011. This year it is more special as it is about a massive drive to collect money (more than R1 million) for the Breast Cancer Clinic at the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academy Hospital.
The hashtag #PitchUpInPink, #CatchItEarly, #PinkODI, is being used to motivate the South African Team. It is also said that the team has never lost wearing the pink, but India has already set a target of 290 runs that they have to achieve.
India has already won 3 matches in six- match series. And in this match AB de Villiers returns to the South African side. Well, we really wish them luck and hope they achieve both targets, R1 million and 290 runs.
